The beautiful and majestic River Boyne is rich in historical and mythical heritage. As it flows through the Boyne Valley it passes by Trim Castle, Bective Abbey and the Hill of Tara, then through Navan onto Ardmulchan, the Hill of Slane and past the ancient monuments of Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth and to the medieval town of Drogheda and on to the Irish Sea and Mornington and Baltray. The river has many beautiful bridges along her journey to the Irish Sea.
